Healthy Boundaries // What About Sexual Abuse & Domestic Violence

FaithTrust Institute is a national, multifaith, multicultural training and education organization with global reach working to end sexual and domestic violence.

Founded in 1977 by the Rev. Dr. Marie M. Fortune (retired, 2016), FaithTrust Institute offers a wide range of services and resources, including training, consulting and educational materials. We provide communities and advocates with the tools and knowledge they need to address the religious and cultural issues related to abuse. We work with many communities, including Asian and Pacific Islander, Buddhist, Jewish, Latino/a, Muslim, Black, Anglo, Indigenous, Protestant and Roman Catholic.

These videos were designed to assist Clergy, but they can also assist lay ministers and volunteers (Sponsor Couples) in establishing healthy boundaries in dealings with those preparing for marriage.

Founded on a theological and ethical discussion of power and vulnerability, it focuses on the particular roles that pastoral caregivers fulfill within a spiritual community. This curriculum was developed to strengthen the understanding of the needs for boundaries, as a method of self-care and community care.

These curricula use videos to tease out key issues that clergy of all faiths and denominations raise up as challenging, and include leaders from Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, and Buddhist traditions.
