Homework to prepare for Zoom Training
“Homework” to be completed before taking part in Sponsor Couple Training.
During the Covid-19 shut down of face-to-face meetings, we at For Better & For Ever ® learned that we could do a better job of Training Sponsor Couples by requiring them to complete assigned "homework" before taking part in a Zoom Training session. (if you do not already have personal copies of For Better & For Ever ®, you will need to order a set of the books to do this homework > go to Place Orders on the menu above.)
This policy of requiring couples to compete the assigned "homework" in their personal workbooks and sharing this "homework" with their spouse made it possible for our Zoom Training sessions to begin with the training leader asking each couple to share "What did you learn from your experience of doing the homework and sharing it with your spouse?
After Covid-19 restrictions were lifted and we can do face-to-face training again, we continue requiring couples to do this homework before taking part in a Sponsor Couple Training session because we find the sharing that couples provide as they being their Training session is unique and valuable element of their Training. Their sharing always provides examples of the influence of their own family of origin in their marriages.
Sponsor Couple Training will provide an opportunity to deal with specific questions/issues about which couples may want more information.
Part One: Become Familiar with the CONTENT of For Better & For Ever ® and the experience of doing Homework that you share with your spouse.
- Read pages 5,6,7 of For Better & For Ever ®. Look through the rest of the book as much as you have time for. These are your books so make use of a highlighter to make note of information you think is really important.
- Answer ~ in writing ~ in your books the questions for Chapters 2, 3, 4, 5 regarding Family of Origin and share your answers in dialogue with your spouse. In doing this, you will experience what you will be asking engaged couples to do. Make note of new or additional information you learn about one another; this will be most useful in sharing with couples you sponsor. You and your spouse will be proof that marriage is an on-going process of learning more about one another and developing ever better relationship skills! You are welcome to write your answers to the questions in additional Chapters but we are not making this a requirement to be done before your Training day because we know you will be answering those questions when you prepare for meetings with a couple you are sponsoring!
